Golden Globes and boffo box office unusual for an R-rated film. It’s violent and bizarre, sad but ultimately uplifting… no, wait… it’s not uplifting. It’s a grim fairy tale about mental illness and the struggles some people have just surviving in a society full of exploiters and resentment and rage.
