The Conscience of the King
The Cinemondo troupe of Shakespearian thespians take a close look at the Star Trek episode “The Conscience of the King” and decide whether it was meant to be or not to be in their list of favorite episodes. There’s a few classic scenes, and few of Kathy’s favorite “Cranky Spock” moments, and a few “first and onlys” but does it live up to the quality of other Trek episodes? The episode itself is a bit of an anomaly in a few ways, but despite our misgivings about the plot and style of it, we still think it’s worth a watch, because, as we’ve said before, ALL episodes of Star Trek have something that makes them special. And this one has “Cranky Spock.,” but none of the actors in the beloved troupe of interstellar Shakespearians shouts, “Out damn Spock!” Not even once!
