Mudd’s Women
The Cinemondo Red Shirts explore the somewhat troubling episode MUDD’S WOMEN, where we get a taste of how much television could get away with in the 60s, without actually coming right out and openly saying it’s about prostitution and drug addiction. Offset by the lovable pimp known as Harry Mudd, in the first of his two appearances on the series. We get into the details of this one, and it’s not always pretty. In fact you’d need a double dose of the Venus Drug to make this episode pretty. It’s got its moments, but is the moral of the story lost? Is there a moral to the story? Is being stunningly beautiful really all it’s cracked up to be?
