The Cinemondo gang talks about, RELIC, a film that’s defined as “horror” but goes into other unexpected realms. RELIC is directed by first-time feature director Natalie Erika James and stars Emily Mortimer, Bella Heathcote and Robyn Nevin. It is one of those films that you can’t really put any single label on; it appears to be one thing, but the more you think about it, the more you realize what the film is really about. It’s actually a very touching film with a lot of heart and a very clear understanding of some of the less pleasant facts of life. It could certainly be watched as a full-on horror movie, as it has chilling moments and some genuine scares, but underneath its skin RELIC is so much more.
