Ep 114: Satan’s Slaves & Impetigore

Satan's Slaves and Impetigore

INDONESIAN HORROR FILMS TO HAUNT YOUR DREAMS

Halloween is near so it is time to talk horror movies! Take scary trip with the Cinemondo gang to Indonesia for a look at two great, moody, atmospheric, creepy, haunting films by Joko Anwar. SATAN’S SLAVES is a haunted house ghost story framed by folklore and strange rumors of evil cults, and IMPETIGORE takes us to an Indonesian village where a couple of friends find themselves becoming a part of a larger story involving curses and spells and unspeakable rituals. Both films are beautifully shot in locations us Westerners aren’t very familiar with. Excellent cast and genuinely chilling pacing and what the movie experts call  and “escalation of menace” as we find out more and more about why a remote village seems to have a vendetta against an innocent toll booth worker. Definitely worth seeing both of these fantastic films.
